Our History
NewType was originally founded in 2017 to explore and test newly developed sustainable technologies for rapid commercialization.
In 2021, NewType was reincorporated as a for-profit public benefit company developing new business models to address plastic recycling and plastic waste challenges using enzymes improved by machine learning and artificial intelligence.

NewType moved into our current headquarters at a 25,000 sq. foot manufacturing and incubation campus in 2024.
​
Our first laboratory was completed later that year.

Microbiologist / Lab Technician
We are seeking a trained and experienced Lead Microbiologist, the ideal candidate will execute our Bacteria-as-a-Service development roadmap alongside our Cellular Biologist. The candidate will also assist in the design and equipment selection for two new BSL-2 BioTech Labs to be built during our headquarters expansion in the next two months.
